I Am: Jesus in His Own Words - Week 3
I Am the Vine
John 15
Your life will make an eternal difference when you are rightly connected with Christ.
John 15:1-2, 5-8
A life that makes an eternal difference is a life that is connected to Jesus.
Remaining is a variable.
Remaining is required for fruitfulness.
The penalty for lack of fruitfulness is severe.
Fruitfulness is a proof of discipleship.
What are the critical components to a high-impact life?
A source of power for spiritual productivity (John 15:1, 7)
A decision to remain (John 15:4-5)
A maximizer of spiritual productivity (John 15:2, 6)
How does he prepare the fruitless branch?
“He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit….”
John 15:2a
How does he prepare the fruitful branch for greater fruitfulness?
“...while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”
John 15:2b
How does he deal with the withered branch?
“If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”
John 15:6
