Discussion
Use these questions to reflect on this week's message as a family or group.
The life and teachings of Jesus are generally accepted as true. His resurrection is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. Read Luke 1:1-4. How can these words strengthen your faith and belief in Jesus?
Read John 20:1-2, 9-18. Imagine that you were with Mary when she discovered the empty tomb. What would you have asked Jesus? How would you convince your family and friends that you “have seen the Lord”?
Popular belief and culture describe God as distant and/or a powerful being that is ready to punish us if we step out of line. Read John 3:17-18. What can we learn about God’s willingness to reach out to us?
When we embrace the risen Christ, we find peace. Read John 14:27. What type of peace do we find in Christ?
Jesus rose again so you could begin again. We can all “pass from death unto life” (John 5:24). Have you experienced this? If not, what will it take for you to embrace the message of Easter and begin again?
