Proverbs 4:1-13

  • Game Plan: A specific strategy to bring success on the field of play against a given set of contingencies

  • Family Transitions: specific times in the family journey when abilities and accountabilities experience significant shifts

What is true in every transition?

  1. The family unit is destabilized.

  2. Relational connections are re-evaluated.

  3. Expectations are challenged.

  4. Roles have to be re-ordered.

  1. Describe a time when your family faced a transition. What made it more difficult? During the transition, what expectations were challenged?

  2. Read Proverbs 4:1-3. What does Solomon say about generational wisdom?

  3. Pastor Brian stated that the primary goal of parenting is to help our children develop an attachment to wisdom. Read Proverbs 4:7-9. How can the words of Solomon help us in this endeavor?
