Why Is Life Unfair?
Hebrews 11:32-39, 12:1-3

  • “Why is life so unfair? Why do bad things happen to me?”

  • A trigger event is most often an unexpected event, beyond our control that creates chaos and hurt in our lives and produces an overwhelming sense that we have been defrauded.

  • Some will be seen as over-comers in their earthly experience.

    • Hebrews 11:32-35

    • They received what was promised.

  • Others will be seen as experiencing a life of struggle rather than victory.

    • Hebrews 11:36-39

  • Clarify our Thinking About Suffering

    • God is God and we are not!

    • Both received the same commendation for faith and service.

    • The value of life is based upon faithfulness not visible outcomes.

    • It is really all about the spiritual dimension, not the physical dimension.

  • Don’t let opposition limit your faithfulness

    • Hebrews 12:1

  • Follow the template of Christ’s behavior

    • Hebrews 12:2

  • Allow his strength to keep you encouraged

    • Hebrews 12:3
