The Problem of Me: Week 4
Me vs. Me
Galatians 5:16-25

  • It’s impossible to solve a problem if you don’t know what’s causing the problem..

  • RULES - You should have. You didn’t. You’ll pay.

  • Love one another the way I have loved you.

  • The bad news is you’re going to spend your life frustrated -- because a relationship with Jesus doesn’t work well trying to live out the “rules.”

  • Religion informs us what to do. It doesn’t enable us to do it.

    • Romans 6:14

  • Sin is not your master anymore.

  • John 15:5

    • You learn to have a relationship with me like a branch with a vine. What does the branch do? Nothing but stay connected to the vine.

  • Galatians 5:16-19

  • Galatians 5:22

    • Fruit is produced in and through us, not by us.

  • Galatians 5:24-25

  • Following Jesus is about keeping in step with Jesus, instead of following the law. It’s about a relationship, not rules.

  • Accept your new identity.

  • Pursue this new relationship.

  • I’m not responding anymore with -- “I did it again.

  • Now, I’m responding with -- “I got out of step.”
