Week 2 - The Bad News about the Good News

  • If the life and the message of Jesus doesn't strike you as good news, perhaps you've never heard the original news. 

  • Universal Oughts: We only hold ourselves accountable to this universal sense of ought at times, but we always hold other people accountable to it.

  • Jesus leveled the playing field by reminding us that we aren’t so good.

  • What makes the good news so good is that we aren't so good.

  • You cannot get to where you need to be until you acknowledge where you are today.

  1. We are all in a mess.

  2. There is only one way out of the mess.

  3. Jesus cleaned up our mess.
